Thymosin Alpha-1 (Tα1) is a 28-amino-acid peptide best known for its immune-modulating activity. Originally derived from thymic tissue and now produced synthetically as thymalfasin, Tα1 has been studied for decades in relation to T-cell function, immune response, infections, vaccine response, and inflammatory conditions.

Unlike many newer peptides discussed online, Thymosin Alpha-1 has a substantial body of human clinical research behind it and has been used medically in several countries. It is not FDA-approved in the United States, however.
